The Pluto in Libra generation are those born between 1971 and 1984 (with a few exceptions when Pluto slipped back into Virgo or forward into Scorpio).

In this lifetime and others, the Pluto in Libra generation have experienced too much of others projecting — projecting their beliefs, their needs, their rules, their own sense of inferiority, their fears and any other thing that people tend to project onto others. This holds this generation back from truly treading its own independent path and exploring its own identity.

For those with Pluto in Libra, the evolutionary intention of the Soul is to grow towards Aries, and this generation of people are heading towards integrating the most positive aspects of Aries to overcome the limitations for growth experienced in Libra. In Evolutionary Astrology this is called the Pluto Polarity Point, and is the most important point in the entire chart for understanding every other placement.

When the Libra archetype is operating in a high-functioning way, then we have relationships that are truly balanced. This means that equality is the basis of our interactions and we mutually meet each other’s needs. This is entirely unfamiliar to the Pluto in Libra generation. To break through this, they first need to ensure they fully and completely know who they are and that they develop strong identities, instincts and a life path. This is the Aries polarity. Only then, once they are truly secure in themselves, can they truly meet others on an equal footing.

The house placement of your Pluto will give you a more nuanced perspective on what exactly was projected onto you and which patterns keep repeating. Being a Pluto in Libra person is like being on one side of a seesaw, completely dependent on the other person to try and stay in balance. This dependency is a bad habit and is something your Soul wants to grow away from. The way the person on the other end of the seesaw keeps you attached to them is written in the house placement.

To reach the evolutionary intention of total Aries freedom and independence requires you first complete the evolutionary intention of the polar house placement, the house directly opposite your Pluto house placement. All the planets in your chart, with their special placements and their particular harmonies, are all geared towards helping your Soul’s growth. Knowing the primary intended direction of evolution is the first step.
